Clay Center!

Students are getting the hang of the new centers in the art room.  They are working more independently to master learning targets in drawing, painting and collage.  Students not only have to work to achieve the learning target but are also responsible for selecting subject, designing composition and taking care of the art tools and materials in the center they are working in.  As students achieve the targets that have been introduced they can move on to 2nd quarter targets in clay and more advanced work in drawing and painting.

The Timbercreek Community tree is now completed in the gym.  Every student contributed art to create a tree inspired by the artist Gustav Klimt.  Each grade level is represented by a color.  K - green, 1st - yellow, 2nd - orange, 3rd - red, 4th - purple, teachers and staff - blue.

Studio Centers

Three Studio Centers are open and students have been learning the ins and outs of working independently.  Art students have a choice of working in drawing, painting or collage and paper sculpture right now.  We have been learning procedures and how to correctly use the tools and supplies in each area.  The kids have been really excited to explore each center and I am already seeing some great work!
